And so it is with writing. It’s not the mystery most people make it out to be; in fact, when you get right down to it, writing is pretty formulaic. It’s a series of skills that, once learned, require a commitment to practicing them. In other words, no one is born a great writer; instead, writers learn their craft through hard work.
