Catalog description

Welcome to STEM 471. In this course, you will explore how artificial intelligence, AI systems, and AI algorithms shape society and influence everyday life. You will examine the societal impacts of AI technology, including ethical, political, psychological, and economic dimensions such as ethical concerns, decision making, and racial and gender biases. Coursework develops critical thinking about the use of AI and its AI capabilities and AI risks. Your work will inform both personal and professional applications, including how AI development and such systems may benefit society. No prior technical background is required.
