Students examine federal legislation and state-specific requirements that shape identification and service provision for students with disabilities in the United States. Contemporary challenges in digital accessibility, discipline procedures, and accountability measures are addressed through the lens of current law and policy. Emphasis is placed on understanding the legal rights of students and families while developing the professional knowledge needed to ensure equitable educational opportunities for all learners with exceptionalities.
