Literacy and Technology

Catalog description

In this course, students will connect technology and literacy skills to meet the needs of 21st-century learners. Students will examine various forms of technology resources and collaborative tools to assess the effectiveness in improving literacy skills. They will analyze literacy development, writing, comprehension, critical thinking, and engagement in learners who are typical and atypical. Students will design a project to demonstrate the effectiveness of various forms of technology in the promotion of literacy. They will also critique the strengths and limitations of literacy methodologies and technological tools. Upon conclusion of the project, students will provide suggestions to inform curricula within organizations and in their current or future roles as educational leaders.
