Considering the practical day-to-day support of students, this course looks at critical functions including DSS, retention, and outreach to students through the structure of supporting departments. Topics range from ways to handle at-risk students to helping to build sustainable efforts, class scheduling, and support. From orientation to graduation, readings and discussions target issues related to helping students navigate the complexity of higher education.
