Catalog description

In this course, students will analyze strategies crucial to the design and implementation of a school-wide or district-wide leadership initiative to support literacy development. Students will explore methods to improve a comprehensive range of literacy skills guided by research and current best practices. Specific principles and theories of reading instruction are compared and evaluated to identify the best methods to support various learning needs. Students explore the scientific research base underlying different models of reading instruction, technology, integration, and assessment.
