Catalog description

This course prepares experienced educators to lead systematic curriculum design, development, and evaluation initiatives in PK-12 educational settings. Students will critically examine curriculum theories and research to inform curriculum development, analyze alignment issues between standards and learning progressions, and develop expertise in creating comprehensive curriculum materials. The course emphasizes practical application of curriculum design principles, including standards analysis, curriculum mapping, backwards design, and differentiation strategies. Particular attention is given to subject-specific curriculum considerations and integrating technology, including AI tools, to enhance curriculum design and meet varied learner needs.
