Catalog description
Lesbian Cultures (3) What is a lesbian? It is a seemingly simple question that cannot actually be answered without understanding the long and fraught history of the term's usage in identity, politics, and analytics. This course focuses on the theoretical, historical, political, and cultural construction of lesbian identities. Taking an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach, it interrogates lesbian existence across race, class, ethnicity, age, and other identity markers.
