Gender, Politics, and Power (3) This course explores how gendered forms of power shape and organize the world. It considers how the process of gendering, or the socialization of sexual difference, is always situated in wider social hierarchies that mark who and what is valued in our societies. Course themes center the experiences of marginalized communities through a global, decolonial perspective. In doing so, students develop an analysis of power that expands their understanding of the political and what being a partner to social justice struggles involves.
