The Religious Heritage of the West FA2 (3) This course explores the contribution of religion to Western civilization. Beginning in ancient Mesopotamia, it examines the eastern Mediterranean roots of Western religions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. As these traditions move and change over time, students explore their evolution through the medieval period up and through their engagement with the Enlightenment, secularity, and the emergence of new manifestations in the contemporary period.
