Culture and Lifespan Development (3) This seminar provides an in-depth examination of human development across the lifespan through a cultural lens. The course approaches development as a dynamic, reciprocal process in which individuals and cultural systems mutually shape one another over time. Students critically analyze how cultural practices, belief systems, institutional structures, and socialization processes influence biological, cognitive, social, and emotional development from infancy through adulthood. The course emphasizes developmental variability within and across cultural contexts with applications to research clinical practice and policy.
