Government procurement of services, supplies, and construction is a driver of the American economy in countless programs and staggering annual expenditures, from adding to the defense infrastructure to pushing the limits in medical science. In the pursuit of public programs, there are inevitable disputes and claims, often involving significant dollar value and important issues of law, and all within an intricate framework to courts and jurisdictions. This course is designed for the study of the legal process, with emphasis on the powers and operations of courts and administrative bodies to decide disputes between parties in government contracts. The course examines the organization of courts and agencies and the process to resolve disputes.
