Catalog description

Local governments regulate housing, zoning, education, policing, transportation, public health, environmental protection, taxation, and economic development. This discussion- based seminar examines the constitutional and statutory foundations of local government law through the themes of decentralization, home rule, state preemption, metropolitan governance, fiscal federalism, land use, democratic participation, and urban inequality.
