Using statutes and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure as tools in civil litigation. Topics covered include strategy, purposes, and tactics of class action litigation; shareholder derivative suits; injunctions, temporary restraining orders, and stays; appealable orders, interlocutory appeals under 28 U.S.C. Section 1292 (b), writs of mandamus and prohibition; civil motions practice; judicial panel on multidistrict litigation; and award of attorneys' fees to prevailing parties by statute, from a common fund or under Common Benefit Doctrine.
