Catalog description

Sports and the Law (3) This course provides an overview of the laws and policies that affect the sports industry in the United States. In examining the governing bodies of sports from the high school through Olympic levels the course discusses the impacts of constitutional law, torts law, contract law, criminal law, and property law on these organizations and athletes. Students also explore the confluence of Supreme Court cases and policies that affect the future of college athletics. Crosslist: JLC-429.
