Community-Based Research I (1) This course is the first in a two-course sequence in which students are guided through a hands-on community-based participatory research project with a local nonprofit community partner. The course emphasizes relationship building between students and the community partner, developing content knowledge related to the partner's focus area, and planning the research project. Usually Offered: fall. Grading: A-F only. Restriction: DC Community Impact Scholars or Community-Based Research (Undergraduate Certificate). Registration not allowed in both IDIS-341 and IDIS-340. Note: Course type: Community-Based Learning. As a part of this course, students will actively serve with a nonprofit agency or school in the DC area to apply their course knowledge. Students may not receive credit toward a degree for both IDIS-340 and IDIS-341.
