Introduction to Infectious Disease (4) This course introduces the principles of infectious disease, including the natural history of common microbes, etiology of globally prevalent infectious diseases, and how the immune system fights disease-causing organisms. Mechanisms to prevent and treat infectious diseases are also discussed through the lens of public health. Prerequisite: BIO-110; BIO-210 or HLTH-210; and junior standing.
