Justice and Citizenship (3) This course introduces students to ethical reasoning through a substantive consideration of citizenship. What does it mean to be a citizen? What should citizens do and what are they owed in return? What sorts of ethical dilemmas, about what is right and good, do we as citizens face and how ought we to go about solving them? Throughout the semester students consider differing conceptions of citizenship, rooted in theory and practice, and their implications for justice. AU Core Habits of Mind: Ethical Reasoning.
