Student-Managed Investment Fund (1) The Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) is a collaborative class that provides valuable, real-time experiential learning in securities analysis and portfolio management. Students learn equity valuation and portfolio management techniques and tools to demonstrate practical knowledge in research, investing, portfolio management, and the dynamics of equity markets. The course also explores AI research tools. Repeatable three times for credit. Prerequisite: FIN-075, FIN-369, or FIN-672. Permission: instructor.
