The Artist's Perspective: Video Art (3) Today, video is a powerful medium for artistic expression, social change, and global communication. This course introduces contemporary video art, with an emphasis on experimental approaches that challenge conventional narratives and explore new ways of representing time. Through hands-on projects, students learn techniques in sound, shooting, and editing, engage in critiques, and develop their own individual moving image art projects. The course includes screenings and discussions of work by contemporary artists, alongside relevant readings and exhibition visits. AU Core Habits of Mind: Creative-Aesthetic Inquiry. Usually Offered: fall and spring. Note: Necessary equipment and software provided.
