Catalog description

4 Lab Hours Description This course assists students in the development of skills necessary to interpret sketches and prints common to the metal working field. Students begin with simple drafting concepts and sketching techniques, then move on to metal structural shapes used by welders. These include differentiation of auxiliary views, detailed views, projections, sections, detail and assembly drawings. American Welding Society (AWS) standard welding symbols are emphasized, as well as basic math skills including decimals and fractions.
