4 Lab Hours Prerequisites: SUR 110 Description This course builds on the theoretical foundation of SUR 110 Surgical and Central Service Technology 1 with emphasis on nomenclature, the application of the principles of aseptic technique, wound healing, wound closure materials and surgical drains. The student is introduced to radiographic procedures and techniques as well as principles and application of electrosurgical generators and lasers. The student learns how to integrate the surgical supplies and equipment as they relate to opening and closing an abdominal incision and minimally invasive surgery.
