Catalog description

This course provides theoretical and empirical tools to help students explore peace and social transformation in India and United States through the study of Nobel Laureates from both countries. Students examine approaches to peace and social change while exploring the cultural diversity between these two great democracies. The course combines conceptual frameworks and experiential activities to bring theory to practice. Students develop and implement service learning projects in both the countries inspired by the Nobel Laureates. Students undertake a short-term study abroad experience in India to gain first-hand knowledge of cultural dynamics and community service.
