2 Lab Hours Description This course is designed for students in the Sheet Metal Apprentice program. Students learn techniques for the welding of sheet metal 12 gauge and lighter. Emphasis is placed on welding safety to prevent accidents. Additional topics include the basic maintenance and operation of cutting torches and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) equipment. Students practice welding fundamentals taught in both flame cutting and multiple position welds on black iron in the GMAW process.
