240 Clinical Hours Prerequisites: Must be a Certified Technologists in Radiography in good standing recognized by the ARRT and qualified to perform Mammography (www.arrt.org) Description This clinical course provides students with an opportunity to receive hands-on training in a mammographic suite. A signed clinical affiliation agreement must be completed before a student can begin clinical practice. All the Scope of Practice Standards relating to mammography imaging and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Patient care clinical requirements must be completed to pass this course. Students and clinical affiliations are covered by general liability insurances. A dosimetry badge is provided and the radiation safety requirements must be complied with at all times. There is a badge fee charged with this course. Additionally, students must complete all background checks, clearance requirements, drug testing, behavioral and essential functions required by the medical imaging industry, etc. This course is graded on a Pass/Fail basis. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) does not award structural education credits for clinical course work. Students must be certified in the supporting discipline of Radiography first to be eligible to learn mammography within a clinical setting as required by this course.
