Catalog description

This course is for students in the Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Students discuss the interaction of radiation with matter and radiation protection philosophies and concepts. Students also explore radiation interaction with matter, shielding of radioactivity, nuclear detection devices, dosimetry of radionuclides and radiation exposure. Emphasized are the safe use of radioactive sources, X-ray machines, CT reduction techniques and radionuclides.
