In this course, students are introduced to positron emission tomography imaging. PET imaging provides substantially different information than conventional modalities such as x-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound. PET scanning is one of the most frequently used molecular imaging procedures. Molecular imaging allows physicians to see how the body is functioning and measures its chemical and biological processes.
