3 Lab Hours Prerequisites: ALH 140 and Acceptance into the MIS Program Description This course presents students with a comprehensive study of diagnostic and procedural medical coding for insurance billing utilizing the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) classification systems. Students learn to apply these codes to medical insurance claims forms. In addition, the impact on proper reimbursement for health care services is emphasized. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
