150 Cooperative Ed Hours Prerequisites: Instructor Permission Description This cooperative education course provides students with structured, paid or unpaid industry experience in a mechatronics or advanced manufacturing environment. Students apply classroom knowledge in mechanical systems, industrial electricity, sensors, PLCs, robotics and automation while working under the supervision of an employer mentor. Emphasis is placed on hands-on troubleshooting, equipment operation and maintenance, safety practices and professional workplace skills. The co-op experience strengthens technical competency, reinforces industry standards, and prepares students for full-time employment as electro-mechanical or automation technicians. Students must work a total of 150 hours.
