2 Lab Hours Prerequisites: HIT 104 Description The course presents students with a comprehensive study of the legal aspects of health records and health information. Topics include an introduction to fundamentals of law and the U.S. legal system, health information laws and regulations, confidentiality, privacy and security concepts and release of information policies and procedures. Students also examine ethical issues in health information management. This course requires a per credit health career fee; Check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
