45 Clinical Hours Prerequisites: HIT 205 , HIT 210 Description In this course, students gain experience in the field of Health Informatics in health care facilities. All aspects of Health Informatics are reinforced during these practice sessions, which provide hands-on experience in the planning and organizing functions of the Health Information Management Department. Students are responsible for providing and paying for transportation to all clinical sites as well as all other related costs. Students who have relevant work experience and are currently employed in the field complete a project in lieu of clinical hours. All students complete a professional project upon completion of clinical hours to demonstrate competency in their field. The class meets regularly to prepare and practice for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT ® ) test. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
