12 Skills Lab Hours Prerequisites: Acceptance into the ECT Program Description This course provides the foundational hands-on training required for entry into the Electrical Construction Technologies program. First-year apprentices at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #5 develop practical skills aligned with the Electrical Training Alliance first-session curriculum. Emphasis is placed on safe tool use, basic electrical installation techniques, direct current circuit construction, conduit fabrication, interpretation of construction plans and introductory application of the National Electrical Code. Supervised laboratory activities reinforce industry-standard practices through performance-based skill development.
