Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of construction estimating using the quantity survey method. Students compute material quantities for excavation, concrete, formwork, masonry, carpentry, structural steel and finishes. Emphasis is placed on standard estimating practices, uniform measurement methods and shortcut techniques. Students also consider sustainable materials in estimating. Electrical and mechanical systems are excluded.
