12 Skills Lab Hours Prerequisites: BAC 151 Description This course advances student knowledge and skill in reinforced masonry systems, structural stone installations and restoration applications used in masonry construction. Students examine structural wall systems, arches and openings, and the integration of reinforcing components within masonry assemblies. Restoration procedures including tuckpointing, caulking and moisture remediation techniques used to preserve and repair existing masonry structures are emphasized. Through classroom and laboratory instruction, students construct complex masonry features, evaluate installation conditions and identify defects or performance issues within masonry and finishing systems.
