8 Skills Lab Hours Prerequisites: ATE 103 or Instructor approval Description This course introduces the student to the theory and practical application of the automatic transmission and transaxle. Transmissions and transaxles are studied with emphasis on diagnosis and repair of hydraulic systems, mechanical systems and electronic control systems. On-car diagnostic procedures are practiced in conjunction with industry-recognized service manual information. Certain course sections are manufacturer-specific.
