Catalog description

This course offers a comprehensive study of the professional language of medicine. Students develop proficiency in word construction, pronunciation, spelling, definition and the use of terminology across various medical science disciplines, hospital services and health-related professions. Emphasis is placed on recognizing and analyzing the components of medical terms such as prefixes, suffixes, combining vowels and roots. Through a focus on anatomy, pathology, surgical procedures, diagnostic procedures and symptoms, students gain a foundational understanding of medical terminology and its practical application in healthcare settings.
