This is a comprehensive course designed to equip students with the skills necessary for identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in computer systems and networks. The course delves into the current state of hacking and ethical considerations, covering topics such as ethical hacking, penetration testing techniques, cryptography, reconnaissance methods, and various forms of network attacks. Students will learn to identify system and network vulnerabilities, perform incident handling, and apply defensive tools and techniques. The course also includes in-depth study of vulnerability taxonomies and common software vulnerabilities like race conditions and numeric overflows. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on exercises, students will develop a profound understanding of how to secure systems against potential threats. Prerequisite(s): C YBR 203 and C YBR 204.
