Catalog description
This course endeavors to explore the intricate interplay between AI and Social Justice, delving into various topics intertwined with social justice, including but not limited to poverty, law, education, child welfare, and housing. We will explore the prospective advantages and positive transformations that AI can bring in promoting social justice. The exploration will also encompass how AI, through its data collection, design, analysis, and presentation, can potentially exacerbate issues related to social justice. Students will gain exposure to the AI, examining the important points of justice and injustice within AI applications, and will ultimately learn the methodologies for utilizing AI critically to promote social justice. Prerequisite(s): sophomore, junior, or senior status.
