Hands-On Research

Catalog description

Provides students with practical, hands-on experience with data and analysis including experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, MAXQDA, or Atlas.TI. The course will include experience with data analysis such as statistics or qualitative coding, but may also involve data collection such as conducting interviews. These courses include both qualitative and quantitative options. Please see the department’s course description for detailed information about the specific offerings. Prerequisite(s): A SOC 115, 220 or 310, 221 and 235 or 335, or permission of instructor.
