Catalog description

(Formerly A SOC 235). Overview of major schools of theory influencing current sociological inquiry. Discussion of selected works of classical and contemporary theorists. The influence of values on theorizing and the issue of value neutrality. An evaluation of the role of theory in the growth of the discipline. A SOC 335 must be completed with a C or better for the major in Sociology. Only one of A SOC 235 or A SOC 335 may be taken for credit. Prerequisite(s): A SOC 115.
