This Practice Capstone is the culminating course in the nursing program, designed to integrate and apply knowledge gained throughout the curriculum into real-world clinical practice. With a focus on transitioning evidence-based practice into quality improvements and best practices, this course requires students to complete 135 clinical hours in diverse healthcare settings. Students will demonstrate their ability to provide high-quality patient care, engage in complex clinical decision-making, and implement best practices to enhance patient outcomes. The course emphasizes the synthesis of theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional values, preparing students for the transition from student to practicing nurse. Key elements include evaluating and applying evidence-based practices, leading quality improvement initiatives, and refining clinical skills through supervised practice. Prerequisite(s): H NSG 301 with a B or better and A MAT 108 with a C or better to register. Restricted to students in Nursing B.S. AM program.
