Examines gender and Jewish women in historical perspective from the biblical period through the early 21st century. Texts will include biblical passages, Talmudic legislation and interpretation, medieval documents, early modern and modern memoirs, letters, poetry and fiction, and feature and documentary films. Only one version of A WSS 248 and A JST 248 may be taken for credit. May not be offered in 2024-2025.
