Catalog description

Step into the realm of playcentric design, where you'll unlock the secrets of crafting Serious games that transcend mere entertainment. Serious games are designed with a primary purpose beyond amusement, serving as powerful tools for education, behavioral change, or raising awareness. In this course, you'll collaborate within teams to embark on a journey of designing your own Serious games, whether they be board games, card games, tabletop games, or other non-digital gaming experiences. The course guides you through the entire design process, from the initial spark of an idea to crafting playable prototypes of Serious games. You'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your creations to a panel, putting theory into practice. It's important to note that the principles and theory underpinning the design of board, card, and tabletop games are also transferable to the world of video games, making this course a gateway to the broader landscape of game design. Join us in this adventure, where you'll uncover the transformative potential of Serious games and gain the skills to create impactful gaming experiences that go beyond entertainment.
