Catalog description

Disruptive financial technology is a fast-moving global phenomenon. This course provides an overview of various financial technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence. We explain how blockchain and artificial intelligence work and are used in financial businesses. We evaluate the transformative effects of financial technologies on a variety of businesses, including cryptos, insurance, marketplace lending, crowdfunding, and personal banking. We also discuss the balance between regulation and innovation. Only one version may be taken for credit. Prerequisite(s): declared School of Business majors. B FIN 236, B FIN 300, and B FIN 301.
