Catalog description

Earthquakes, tornados, wildfires, and floods; bad things happen to good people—sometimes because of bad actors. Bad Things and Bad Actors provides an overview of the kinds of natural hazards faced in the world along with the kinds of bad actors that may make hazards more dangerous. For each type of hazard and bad actor, we examine what it is, how the hazard/actor develops, how it is measured/monitored, what the effects are, and the preparedness, response, or mitigation activities done to protect people from them. Bad Things and Bad Actors will include discussion of Bad Things such as: hurricanes, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, droughts, wildfire, infectious disease, and mass movements.
