Catalog description

A study of the major European and American critics of 20 th century art up to circa 1970. Student essays in criticism of actual artworks will emphasize understanding of historically significant critical perspectives, as well as the development of personal approaches to criticism. Prerequisite(s): One 100 or 200 level Art History course, junior or senior standing, and permission of instructor.
