Race and Ethnicity in Anthropological Perspective examines anthropological perspectives on race and ethnicity, questioning the biological basis of race while examining the social effects of these cultural ideas. Students will learn how concepts of race and ethnicity have been mobilized to produce social hierarchies in different historical and cultural moments. Prerequisite(s): junior or senior standing and permission of instructor.
