Students will critically examine through readings and class discussions how “anti-Americanism” as an ideology came about and how it has been weaponized to serve different foreign policy agendas. Rhetoric will be examined to understand how Anti-Americanism was used to supposedly advance and enhance US national security and international prestige, the effects were often detrimental.
