Prerequisites: PHYS 291 and MATH 335 . Mechanics at an intermediate level. Newtonian mechanics, motion of a point particle, momentum and energy, oscillations, Lagrange's equations, central force problems, non-inertial frames, rotation of rigid bodies, coupled oscillators and normal modes.
