This course explores the philosophical underpinnings of American civic literacy through key historical documents and philosophical texts. Students will engage with foundational works that have shaped American political and economic thought, including the U.S. Constitution, Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence, and writings by Adam Smith and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
